In Extremis by Jerry McKinney

This is an eerie little zombie short. It tracks a priest and his church from first invasion to its shocking conclusion. Told in reverse it is a fast paced, punchy little story.

This was both shocking and terribly sad at the same time. There are 2 principle characters, the priest, Job and his assistant, nun Claire. The author packs an amazing amount in a short space of time but it never feels rushed or crammed. Told in reverse we start with a zombified priest tied to a bed. We are then taken on a whirlwind journey from the first invasion to the ending, and what a shocking ending! It is a great short story for zombie lovers and would not look out of place in a great anthology. This is the first piece I have read from the author and I am eager to read more!
